Who are Chimneasy?

Hi there, I’m Ben and I am an experienced chimney sweep. I am based in Heathfield but am also a chimney sweep in Crowborough, Rotherfield, Eridge & Boars Cross. I am a highly trained member of the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps and have a expert level understanding of the intricacies of chimney maintenance.

Alongside chimney sweeping I offer birds nest removal, carbon monoxide alarm checks, and CCTV chimney inspections. I tailor my approach to each client to get the best possible outcome and value for money.

Having worked as a firefighter, I have first hand experience of the devastating consequences of improper chimney maintenance. Your safety, family, and home are my main priority.

Keep Your Chimney Clean and Your Home Safe

When burning fuel in a chimney, build up of creosote adheres to the inner lining of your chimney. As these layers grow, they are at risk of igniting, leading to a dangerous and potentially devastating fire. A regular chimney sweep significantly reduces the risk of chimney fires.

Chimney sweeping is more then a job for me, I take pride in doing all I can to protect my clients and their home. I take my time with my work and make sure things are done right. I am always open to sharing my knowledge with my clients, anything I can do to help give you the peace of mind you need.

I am a fully insured chimney sweep. This means that I can show you my insurance-approved certificate. It will give you the comfort that you have taken all the appropriate measures to protect your home in the event of any damage.

I don’t just do the job, I do it right.

How We Conduct Chimney Sweeps

Ensuring your chimney is clean and safe is my top priority. I follow a detailed and systematic approach to, ensure every part of you chimney is attended to. Here’s how I conduct a chimney sweep to provide you with the best possible service.

Visual Chimney Inspection

The first step is a visual inspection of your chimney flue and pot. This enables me to evaluate your chimney’s overall health and spot any problems that could effect efficiency and safety. By bringing issues to life, such as wear and tear, obstructions, cracks or water damage, we might be able to avoid expensive repairs in the future.

Cleaning Methods

Using a combination of both traditional and power sweeping, I achieve a more thorough clean. I remove soot, creosote, and any obstructions in your chimney. This includes the flue, smoke chamber, and firebox. As a member of the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps, I follow a strict code of practice.

Creosote and Tar Removal

When wood and coal are burned in your chimney, by products like tar and creosote can build up. If this is not fixed, it may accumulate over time and become significant fire risk.

  • Fire in time for Christmas

We had recently moved house and were desperate to use the open fire for our first Christmas in our new home. The job turned out to be more involved than initially anticipated due to previous owners not having it swept in years and full of tar, but Ben took care to explain what he was doing every step of the way. He also advised on the correct placement of the carbon monoxide alarm. Highly recommend and have already booked next year’s appointment.
