Chimney Sweeping

Professional chimney sweeping and maintenance with Chimneasy. My service goes beyond the basics, ensuring your chimney’s safety and performance all year round.

Initial Inspection and Setup

Before any sweeping starts, I carry out a detailed visual check of your chimney flue and chimney pot. This initial step is vital. It helps me spot any potential problems like cracks, blockages, or signs of wear and tear that could affect the safety and efficiency of your chimney. Spotting these issues early can save you from bigger, costly repairs down the line.

After the inspection, I prepare your space for the sweep. I understand your home is important to you, so I take extra care here. I cover the fireplace area with a clean, sealed protective sheet. This isn’t just any cover; it’s specially designed to contain all the soot and dirt. This way, your living space remains clean, and your furniture and belongings are protected from any mess with the chimney cleaning process. It’s all about giving you peace of mind, knowing that while the chimney gets a thorough clean, your home stays just as it was – clean and comfortable.

Cleaning Methods

At Chimneasy, I don’t just do the job; I do it right.

I follow a strict code of practice and high industry standards outlined by the Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps. My approach includes traditional and power sweeping, a more advanced technique that ensures a deeper clean. This method is not just about removing soot; it’s about maintaining the efficiency and safety of your chimney.

Advanced Technology

I use a HEPA filter vacuum cleaner in my sweeping services. Unlike regular filters that trap particles, the HEPA filter uses electrostatic attraction to capture even the smallest particles. This advanced technology ensures that your chimney isn’t just clean; it’s Chimneasy clean.

Compliance and Insurance

One key aspect often overlooked is the role chimney sweeping plays in your home insurance. Regular professional cleaning is not just recommended; it’s frequently required.

A valid and recent sweeping certificate from a professional service like Chimneasy is more than just a piece of paper. It proves you’re taking the proper steps to protect your home. Upon completion of my services, your chimney will be cleaner and compliant with insurance standards, and you’ll receive an insurance-approved certificate as a member of the Guild of Master Sweeps.

Creosote and Tar Removal

An essential part of my chimney sweeping service is the removal of creosote and tar build-up. These substances are byproducts of burning wood and coal that can stick to the inside of your chimney. Over time, they can thicken and become a fire hazard if they’re not cleaned out. A hot flame or a temperature rise can ignite this build-up, leading to a dangerous chimney fire.

During my sweep, I thoroughly clean these build-ups out of your chimney.

Maintenance

My service goes beyond just the day of cleaning. I understand that life gets busy, and it’s easy to forget about scheduling your next chimney sweep. That’s why I offer a convenient reminder service. Once your chimney has been cleaned, you won’t have to worry about remembering when the next cleaning is due.

I’ll keep track of your cleaning schedule and send you a reminder when it’s time for your next appointment. This isn’t just a courtesy; it’s a commitment to ensuring that your chimney remains in top condition year after year. Regular maintenance is critical to preventing problems and keeping your home safe.

Whether it’s an annual sweep or more frequent checks due to heavy usage, I’ve got it covered. This personalised approach means you can relax and enjoy your fireplace without the hassle of remembering to book your next service. It’s all part of making Chimneasy’s service hassle-free, thorough, and reliable.

  • Fire in time for Christmas

We had recently moved house and were desperate to use the open fire for our first Christmas in our new home. The job turned out to be more involved than initially anticipated due to previous owners not having it swept in years and full of tar, but Ben took care to explain what he was doing every step of the way. He also advised on the correct placement of the carbon monoxide alarm. Highly recommend and have already booked next year’s appointment.
